HISER successfully completed!

On Monday, May 25th, during the final review meeting, we presented the last results of the HISER project to the European Commission. Various project partners from different European countries were present.

Achievements in the HISER project:

2 pilot projects were carried out, in which a utility building was demolished in a circular way.

The BIM-Smart Demolition tool was used to create a complete material inventory of the building.

During the demolition, an LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) and LCC (Life Cycle Costing) were created to scientifically analyze the environmental impact and costs.

In Hoorn, the ADR (Advanced Dry Recovery) was set up, which came from the TUDelft lab, to perform real-life industrial tests.

The end-of-life concrete rubble from the pilot projects was processed on-site at GBN in Hoorn using the innovative C2CA-technology (the ADR).

The LIBS technology is used to monitor the quality of the recycled material in real-time.

The other partners in the HISER project conducted various tests on the produced material (coarse-fraction) from the ADR (TUDelft and Mebin).

Research was conducted on the material properties and compared with primary aggregate. The concrete properties were also examined with various replacement percentages.

Finally, the material was applied in concrete for various industrial tests, including in the floor of the upcycle center in Almere.
